that's because the people have a difficult time staying awake. too many things to drowse them to sleep.the audience is like jesus' disciples and george is jesus. jesus wanted his disciples to remain awake during an important time - the night before his crucifixion. and yet they couldn't help but fall asleep everytime. and so it was too late.so it is with people who hear george speak. they listen and agree, but sooner or later fall asleep as they return to the usual pattern of life.

although i believe that EVERYTHING he says is true, we cant forget that compared to other humans globally we as americans live very comfortable lives. those in third world countries can barely get food on the table, they'd give anything to actually trip about something like social security.
